Moya began in the therapy room.

I began working as a psychologist in 2001. The profession gave practical expression to a sense of responsibility that had been part of me for as long as I can remember. A small clinical practice gradually became a group practice, shaped by more than two decades of listening to people and working with the complexity of their lives.
Over time, I came to appreciate both the value and the limits of traditional one-to-one therapy. Access to psychological care in South Africa remains profoundly unequal. Many people do not meet the threshold for an overstretched public service, yet cannot afford private treatment. Others reach therapy only after their difficulties have become a crisis.
The therapy room taught me how much human struggle has in common across very different lives. It also made clear that people need different forms of support. Some require depth and careful exploration. Others benefit from structure, practical skills, reflection and continuity between sessions. Moya Group developed from the belief that psychological support should not be available only to a small minority, or offered only once life has become unbearable.
My late diagnosis of autism and ADHD gave this work a more personal significance. For much of my life, I knew that I experienced the world differently but lacked the language to understand why. Diagnosis brought validation, grief and, over time, greater self-compassion. It also changed the way I listened to clients, particularly those whose neurodivergence had been missed or misunderstood.
That personal experience, together with twenty-five years of clinical work, encouraged Moya to move beyond the consulting room. We began developing programmes that combine human support with carefully used digital tools. Technology does not replace therapy or human connection; it can, however, extend them by supporting reflection, skills practice and continuity in everyday life.
Moya Group exists to help people move beyond coping alone, towards lives that feel more connected, creative, compassionate and personally meaningful.

A note on Bloom
Bloom is a name we use with intention.
We use the name Bloom in two specific ways. The Bloom Method™ is our proprietary behavioural-change framework, and the Bloom Platform™ is the technology through which it is delivered. At present, one programme carries the Bloom name, Bloom Pathways, while Bloom@Work is in development.
The remaining programmes have their own identities: Rediscovering Me, Reclaiming Self, Wired for Love, My Brain My Way, Shared Programmes and NeuroNova. Their names are intended to reflect the people and needs they address, rather than the organisation that developed them.
